Resilient Australia Awards
Return produced the video accompanying University of Sydney, Centre for Disability Research and Policy, and Natural Hazards Research Group’s study “Local Emergency Management Guidelines for Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction in NSW.”
This research project aimed to improve community resilience by including people with a disability in disaster planning and preparedness. The guidelines and accompanying DVD can be used by communities across the state. Additionally, the inclusive and collaborative model fostered relationship building; increased the knowledge base regarding disability inclusion; and promoted collaboration within communities.
